At this time of the year, the setting sun shines brightly on the ceiling. At the check-in counter, they picked up my checked suitcase and I checked in. They also issued me my boarding pass for flight OZ709 from Incheon to Cebu.
Today's Asiana flight OZ113 is a 747 Jumbo. Evening flights are often delayed, but I wonder if they just flew it straight to Kansai Airport after arriving from somewhere far away? Takeoff at 17:14

The flight attendant who served the food stopped me when I tried to take a photo with her hand, so I just took the photo when she wasn't there.

Maybe the route around the islands was crowded today, or maybe we avoided Luzon because a big typhoon was passing through, so we went across the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It took 4 hours and 20 minutes to get to Cebu.

I bought a ticket for the TransAsia Ferry in the morning, and just before 6pm, it started raining on my way to the port. I headed to Pier 3.
The ship is TransAsia 10
Since it was Thursday and not a weekend, the deck beds and passengers were all empty, and my air-conditioned tourist class seat was also empty. I had a leisurely stir-fried vegetable dinner.

Fri

I slept soundly in bed for nearly eight hours. As the ship approached the city of Cagayan de Oro, it slowed down and dawn began to break.
It gets brighter in just a short time
When the ship is about to dock, children are waiting on the boat, diving to retrieve coins tossed by passengers; this country is not just for children.
A red patrol boat was moored at the edge of the harbor, and beside it was a slum district that spilled out into the sea.
The boat was scheduled to arrive at 5:30 in the morning, but arrived at 5:10. This boat is indeed early. It's quite different from the boat that departs at the same time and arrives at 9:00.
When I asked the porter to help with my luggage, he said that the other day I paid 50 pesos for one piece and 100 pesos for two pieces, so this time I would have to pay 100 pesos for just one piece.I was confused as I'm not used to constantly negotiating prices, but I managed to get it down to 80 pesos.
Taxis are ripped off, so I get on a shared tricycle with a large suitcase, a carry-on suitcase, and a small bag, thinking that the price will be the same as the other passengers.
This woman said she lives in Bukidnon, Mindanao. We chatted in the car and when I asked if I could take a photo, she generously posed. I wanted to talk more, but she was with her family, so I refrained from asking for her contact information.
We arrived at Agora Bus Terminal, the other passengers got off and although I had paid P100 they only gave me P20 back, so I yelled out "What? Don't make me mad" and managed to get my P50 back. They then asked me to pay for two bags and for all three of us, saying "What are you talking about? Don't add hand-carry luggage to the account without my permission. Even if you add it to the account it's only P24", and "If you're a local I paid P30 for P16 so of course they should give it back", I complained stubbornly and got another P20 back.
I got off at the other side of the minivan terminal and dragged myself through the bus terminal. It was around 6:30 in the morning.
The minivan driver sitting in the back of the car said, "We won't charge a P100 baggage fee until we reach Balingoan," so I replied, "I'll only have two bags, one large and one small," and sat down. But just as I was thinking I'd be in trouble if I had to wait a long time until the van was full, another man came to collect the fare, saying, "We're leaving, so pay P120." I insisted, "The driver said it was P100, but I'm not going to pay any more than that." The woman next to me said something in the local language, saying that she had already paid P120.
Even though the van wasn't full, it still departed around 7am, and we arrived in Balingoan at 9:30am. I said, "You're an honest driver," and gave him a P10 tip.
There was a ferry leaving Balingoan Port at 10:00, so I bought a ticket for P180.
There was a P2 tax next to the ticket, and we paid P15 to enter the boarding building. There was an X-ray machine inside the building, but it was broken, so we had to open our luggage and put our hands inside to be inspected. When they realized we were Japanese, they were friendly and replied, "Thank you."
I sat in the waiting room, went to the toilet, and was on board in less than five minutes.
The departure of the Balingoan is delayed as planned, and it is unlikely that it will depart on schedule.
After about an hour and a half of sailing, the ship arrived at Benoni Port, and then a ferry departed, spewing black smoke. I wondered if it was going to Balingoan? I remembered my arrival in Cagayan de Oro and told the porter, "Just a big suitcase, and you only need to carry it down the stairs, so it'll be P10," and he agreed.
Which car will take me to Mambajao after leaving the port of Benoni? Jeepneys are too hot, so I'd like to find a minivan.
We found a minivan going to Mambajao for P30 and set off immediately. My yellow suitcase in the front was the largest piece of luggage we had, and because the driver was driving roughly, our luggage was flying around every time the car shook, so the lady in red in the front helped me hold it down. We arrived in Mambajao in about half an hour. It was comfortable and fast.
From Mambajao, we transfer to a jeepney. Since the bus won't be leaving anytime soon, we head to the market next door to see what we can eat.

The red one is a small tomato, but because they don't care about fertilizer, the vegetables don't taste good regardless of their size. They think that vegetables will grow as long as they have water and sun.

I think that if you cut it off down to the roots and time passes, the leaves will quickly wilt...

I thought it was chopped radish, but it seems to be a type of melon. I bought cabbage for P25, as it was listed as P60/kg.
The weighing machine was installed inside the market, probably because the relevant government agencies were very strict about it.
After this, the jeepney departed and arrived at Sancon Semitary's house in the afternoon.

In the evening, I went to Rafael's house and booked my return flight online. It cost about P1,500-3,500 including my 20kg luggage, which was the same as coming by ferry, or maybe even cheaper. The price was the same the next day and the day after, so I chose the day after.

I spent the morning repairing Rafael's bike and disassembling the carburetor in the town of Catarman, after which they headed to the Ramzones Festival site in Mambajao.
I enjoyed a leisurely coffee at San Consemitary's house, and in the afternoon my dad came to the mountains behind our house to pick ramzones fruit, just a few minutes' walk from there.

This is Ramzones, a fruit so famous in tropical countries that it is even used as the name of a festival. Think of it as a large grape. The flavor is weaker than grapes, but if you eat it every day you will grow to like it. In Japan it is called Longan.

I left home at 5:30 in the morning and my dad drove me to the airport on his motorbike, which took about 20 minutes. The flight number was DG, so I was hoping it was a Dragon Air plane.
The flight number is Dragon Air, but the aircraft is Cebu Pacific ATR72.
Guido3216179579
I sat in seat 11A, and the man sitting next to me was a big, 56-year-old German veteran who was out having fun on his pension. He'd been in Thailand until a friend of his had been arrested and had come back. He said he'd never go back to Thailand, but was it because he'd be arrested if he did? I didn't ask him. Even if I had asked, he wouldn't have told me the truth. We only exchanged cell phone numbers in the Philippines, and he didn't tell me where I was staying.

Tue

It was around 7pm and the roads were crowded as I headed to the airport. A young elementary school student, no older than 10, was riding his bicycle along the edge of the narrow road, pulling a cart. He was passed every time a car stopped in traffic, but he passed the other car when the light turned green. The cart was carrying a lit stove, a scale for measuring weight, and a load of peanuts in the carrier. The boy was pulling the wide cart and skillfully maneuvering his bicycle between the cars, holding a pile of P20 bills representing his sales in both hands.
I was reminded of when I was 10 years old over 50 years ago and used to sell charcoal briquettes, which were a popular trend at the time, from a similar bike.
I had a small peso coin in my pocket that I didn't need, so I rolled down the taxi window and handed it over, saying, "Please take a few if you want to use them." The boy didn't seem to understand what I was saying when he took the coins, but the taxi driver said, "Keep them for me," and it seemed he understood. I asked what they were selling and they said "peanuts." I asked how much they were and they said "Peanuts." I replied that I'd buy some next time, and they said in fluent English, "Won a try, want a try." They gave me a boiled peanut. It wasn't quite as satisfying as the crunchy peanuts I'm used to eating in Japan, but I said, "I'll definitely buy some next time," and we set off when the light turned green. For them, boiling is probably the easiest way to cook food. As evening approached, I felt like cheering on this little elementary school kid.

I checked in at the airport at 10pm the previous day and boarded the flight scheduled for 12:50am today. My seat was 16C, which is next to the emergency exit so there are only two seats, but I thought it was okay to let a child sit in such a close position near the emergency exit. After a while, the flight attendant asked if I could switch seats so that her mother could sit next to her. "Don't you let people who can help in an emergency sit near the emergency exit?" I said, but she didn't seem to understand; it must be a rule for all airlines when taking off and landing. Maybe the flight attendant didn't know the aircraft operating regulations because she didn't study them well, or maybe she was just ignoring them. It's a Korean airline after all.
A Korean girl accepted the candy I had and posed for a photo. I moved to 46C.
Flight OZ710 took off at 00:50. They asked me if I wanted chicken or fish, so I chose fish, which was deep-fried white fish and was delicious.

At Incheon Airport, where I was transferring, I went to the Asiana Airlines transfer counter. The staff member, who spoke English but spoke fluent Japanese and said he'd lived there for 10 years, said, "The flight was delayed because the customer didn't contact us the other day." There was no reason for me to contact them if I was flying with another airline. They wouldn't issue me a boarding pass unless I arrived at the designated time, and once that time was up, the counter unilaterally closed the ticketing and the flight departed. Even with other airlines, there was no reason for me to contact them if I wasn't going to board. Since I wasn't sure about my past behavior at the time, I had no choice but to apologize. I did. "I used to contact them when I wasn't going to board, but the airline said I didn't need to contact them, so I didn't," I explained. If I had checked baggage, the connecting airline would come and collect it, but it seemed I didn't have any on the delayed flight. The only time I ever had to decide which airline to fly with was when I was choosing between Korean Air and Asiana for my trip to Cebu. For the past few years, I've always checked baggage on flights to Cebu, and if they contacted me about it, they'd know I was flying with another airline, so that couldn't have happened to me. Later I looked at my past travel diary, which had everything recorded, and as I had only flown Asiana flights to Cebu for 15 months, I realized that the Korean staff member was lying.

I wanted to go and protest and tell them what they said was a lie, but picking a fight would only make me more angry, so I decided to stay quiet. I gave up on Asiana Airlines, which was lying, and changed to Korean Air KE723 bound for Kansai Airport, a B777-300 that took off at 09:56. I was angry, so I got hungry and ordered a second breakfast. The plane was almost full, but it seemed there was some food left.
We arrived directly above Naruto in Shikoku, and landed at Kansai Airport at 11:05, after which we started work after 2:00 p.m.

My body only felt a little cold on the ferry to Cagayan de Oro, but on Camiguin Island I was sweating all the time except when I was in the backyard getting some fresh air. After returning to Cebu, the hotel was too hot and the air conditioning was too cold, so I felt unwell after getting back and went to the hospital for the first time in a while in the evening of the day I got back.
