	朝7時に彼の家を後にして幹線まで5分程歩いて行きタクシーに乗る。これはLEO通り I left his house at 7am and walked about 5 minutes to the main road and took a taxi. This is Leo Street.

	切符を買いに朝8時に来たのだが「朝11時の出港予定が15時になるがかまわないか？」と言われて躊躇して買わなかった。15時が更に遅れるとトランスアジア社の20時出港の便の方が早いから暫く様子を見て決めようと思った。 I came to buy a ticket at 8am, but was asked, "Is it okay if the scheduled departure time of 11am is changed to 3pm?", which made me hesitate and not buy a ticket. If the 3pm departure time was delayed any further, the TransAsia ferry departing at 8pm would be earlier, so I decided to wait and see what the situation was before making a decision.
出港が午後3時なら6時間以上ある、波止場は屋台が並んでいるが過ごすにはあまりに何もない港、仕方なくカガヤンデオロの町までタクシーで戻る5分程だ。町の中にショッピングモールのガイサノとアヤラが並んで建っていてそこまで戻る、ガイサノはあちこちに店があってガイサノだけでは判らないがガイサノアヤラと言えば場所は特定される。そのガイサノショッピングモールのチケットカウンターで2GO社のフェリーセブ行きは先程は午後３時と言っていたのが午後5時の出港と言っていたがチケットを購入した。 If the departure time is 3pm, there are more than six hours to go, and although there are food stalls lined up at the wharf, the port is too bare to spend time at, so I have no choice but to take a five-minute taxi ride back to the town of Cagayan de Oro. In the town, there are the shopping malls Gaisano and Ayala, side by side, so I head back there. Gaisano has stores all over the place, so you can't tell it apart by just saying Gaisano, but if you say Gaisano Ayala, you can pinpoint the location. At the ticket counter in the Gaisano shopping mall, I bought a ticket for the 2GO ferry to Cebu, which had previously said it would depart at 3pm, but now it's departing at 5pm. トランスアジアの午後8時の出港にしても良いのだが、トランスアジア社は便がメンテナンス不足で度々キャンセルになるし、私の経験では10％位の確率、 2GO社は遅れても便に確実性がある。夜中にセブに到着しても何とかなると思って決めた。その後は時間をもてあましてマクドナルドで朝食、コーヒーをゆっくり楽しんでいる時にセブの宿で知り合ったUAEドバイ出身のオスカーから「何処にいる？」とメールが入る、私は「CDO」とそっけない返事を返したが「私もCDOにいる」と返事、具体的な場所を言えと返事があったので「アヤラのマクドナルドに居る」と返事したら「５分ほどで迎えにいく」と電話があった。 I could have taken TransAsia's 8pm departure, but TransAsia's flights are often canceled due to lack of maintenance, and in my experience, there's about a 10% chance of cancellation. 2GO's flights are reliable, even if they're delayed. I decided on it, thinking I'd be able to manage even if I arrived in Cebu in the middle of the night. Afterwards, I had some time to kill and was enjoying a leisurely breakfast and coffee at McDonald's when I got a text message from Oscar, a Dubai native I'd met at my hotel in Cebu, asking, "Where are you?" I replied curtly, "CDO," but then I replied, "I'm at CDO too." He asked me to specify where I was, so I replied, "I'm at McDonald's in Ayala," and he called to say, "I'll be there in about five minutes."

ミラとオスカーはセブに居た時と同じくカガヤンデオロ市内で安宿を探していた。昼食の後は彼のベッドで数時間休ませてもらって午後4時前に港に送ってくれた。 Mila and Oscar were looking for a cheap hotel in Cagayan de Oro City, just like when they were in Cebu. After lunch, I let him rest in his bed for a few hours and then he dropped me off at the port just before 4pm.

	時刻は16時、港で夕方の便にチェックインして「船まではこの車で送るから乗れ」。計器類は全くない車、でもエンジンは掛かって動く。 It was 4pm and we checked in at the port for the evening flight. "This car will take you to the ship, so get in." The car had no gauges whatsoever, but the engine was running.

	それでもターミナルビルから船まで数分だが手荷物と共に乗って Even so, it only takes a few minutes to get from the terminal building to the ship, and you have to take your luggage with you.
	2GO社のフェリーは大きい船だが甲板に椅子を設置したクラスはない、全てエアコンの効いたクラス、ツーリストクラスはキャビンになっていてトイレのみ共用、キャビンクラスはトイレも部屋にある私はエコノミークラス。 2GO's ferries are large ships, but none of them have seats on the deck; all are air-conditioned.The tourist class is a cabin with only a shared toilet, while the cabin class has a toilet in the room, so I'm in economy class.
	あちこちに食堂や売店があってトランスアジアの船より設備は良いが出入り口に行くには左側にある客室の人もここを通り右側の客室の人もここを通り、私の背後の客室の人もここを通り、さらに上の階の人もここを通り、各客室は100人近くの人が居るし上の階にも同じだけの人が乗船するので非常時には500人以上の人がここしかない出口への通路に殺到する事を考えると恐ろしい。下の写真の船内案内図を良く見ると余計に怖い。数年前に沈没で沢山死んだのが納得。
There are restaurants and shops here and there, and the facilities are better than those on the Trans Asia ship, but to get to the entrance and exit, people in the cabin on the left have to go through here, people in the cabin on the right have to go through here, people in the cabin behind me have to go through here, and people on the upper floors have to go through here too. There are nearly 100 people in each cabin, and the same number of people on the upper floors, so it's scary to think that in an emergency, more than 500 people would rush through this only exit passage. It's even more frightening when you look closely at the ship's navigation map in the photo below. No wonder so many people died when it sank a few years ago.
	赤い表示が現在位置だが左端の部屋にドアが二つあるが非常時に開けられるかは不明、通常の出入り口は現在位置から右へ行くしかない。表示してあるベッドは二段ベッドで舷側の窓はどの部屋も全く開かない構造。 The red display shows the current location, but there are two doors in the room on the far left, but it is unclear whether they can be opened in an emergency. The only normal entrance is to the right from the current location. The beds shown are bunk beds, and the windows on the side of the ship in all rooms are designed so that they cannot be opened at all.

	結構強い雨が降って、この辺りは街の中と言っても雨宿りの場所がないのでガソリンスタンドで雨を待つバイク It was raining quite hard, and even though this area is in the city, there was no place to take shelter, so the motorcyclist waited out the rain at a gas station.
