これも事実だがちょうど半世紀前の1973年に小生が行った時はフランコ将軍とスペインの内戦中でフランスから海岸沿いをマドリードに向かう夜行列車の中で「Straggle
is on」と戦闘が始まったと新聞を見た時は今も脳裏に鮮明だ。
どないなるかと心配した不安な夜行列車の体験も私がその地域を題材にした映画に興味をそそる遠因でもある。
あの頃はヨーロッパの何処でも鉄道で国境を越える度に真夜中であっても列車のコンパートメントの中に入国審査官がドタドタと乗り込んで来た。

After production was finished, the filmmakers specially called in Humphrey Bogart's Rick and French police inspector Renaud, played by an Englishman, and disappeared into the mist while saying, "The beginning of a beautiful friendship." This was an interesting episode that was added by the filmmakers, not the director, and filmed by them. It is true that an ending that simply shows the plane taking off would make the film less interesting.
The closest place to Casablanca in Morocco on the African continent was

ポルトの旧市内は坂の街だが地下鉄メトロも走っていてドンルイス一世橋の上の橋を頻繁に通過する。歩行者は狭い歩道と棒が立ってるだけなので地下から現れた電車はゆっくり進む。
