2017/4/6(木Thu）　今日は隣国ザンビアに移動、入国する。と言っても地図の下の町VictoriaFallesTownから上の町Livingstoneに移動するだけなのだが・・・・。
I will cross border this morning, its only move to next town , now I am in the Victoria falls town move upper town Livingstone on map

今は地図のVictoriaFallsTownにいる、宿をチェックアウトして地図の上にあるLivingstoneの町に今日中に入れる予定。
今夜の宿も予約はしてないが決めている何所にあるか知らないが英語は通じるし何とかなるだろう。

I stay in Victoria falls town bottom of map, I expect I arrive some hostel in Livigstone today I don't have any reservation but maybe I can manage everybody able to understand English around here.

	蚊よけ塗り薬は塗った時は安物の石鹸のような強いレモンの香りがしたが、朝には匂いは全くなくて、それでいて蚊の舞ってる羽音はしていたが全く刺されなかった。私のベッドから見た窓の外、隣のベッドは空いていたので窓から入った黒い猫が朝まで寝ていた Mosquito stick medicine was effective no bite, It was strong smell of lemon such as cheap soap when I put on my skin but no smell in the morning , I hear many of sound mosquito fly night time, this window was open all night No one come beside of my bed, black cat visit at mid night stay till morning.

	左手前の窓が私の部屋、別棟向こうの建物は二人用個室エアコン付us$60と言っていたが何人かで泊るなら良いかも、私は一人だからus$15-共同部屋。 Left side of window is my room yellow house is small room for two people with aircinditon us$60 per night that is good if not alone, I stay shared room us$15-

	こちらは家族用の部屋 This is bigger room good for family use.

	チェックアウトした部屋があったので入る、二人用個室の内部、ベッドと蚊帳が二組ある、白い蚊帳を見てタンザニアのアルーシャの宿を思い出す I find one of checked out room for two people, two bed with mosquito net, I remember Arusha Tanzania.

	私はここでドナイして日本に帰るか作戦を練る、南アフリカ共和国ヨハネスブルグまで行けば日本に帰る飛行機のチケットは持っているが、そこまでをドナイスルカだ。スマートホンの地図の自分の現在地を見ると不安になるので見ないようにして各航空会社の飛行機のスケジュール表と格闘する。 I should make plan for way back to Japan I have flight ticket to Japan but not from here.I have to find the way connect to my air ticket, I am nervous if look at map , I'm in middle of Africa, I need check fight schedule of many airline and also price.
	でも実際にはこんな所にいる私。 Actually my present positon.
	持参したネスカフェコーヒーと紅茶とクッキーとで済ませる朝食、こういう宿で泊まるときのためにインスタントコーヒーと紅茶は常に持参している。 I will finish nescafe instant coffee and english tea with cookie for breakfast today,, I have prepared minimum food in my bag for this situation.
	現地人が見せてくれた現在のジンバブエドル、米ドルと同じ価値なのでus$2と両替してやると言っていたが、ジンバブエではそうかもしれないが国外に出たらただの紙切れだ I talk to native worker show current money native currency, he show me and asked, "Lets change to us$ its same value" but is same value only for him, we can not exchange to us$ in other country, its become only paper.

	強い朝日が出てきたので昨日の滝の水しぶきで濡れた靴を陽の光に当てる Very strong sun shine appeared in morning, I put my shoe sun shine area to make it dry, it was very wet in Victoria fall yesterday

	陽が当たらなければこの時間は長袖が欲しいほどの気温、この後チェックアウトする、夕食はus$現金で払ったので追加支払いはないはず If shade area need long sleeve little cold. I will check out in few minutes, I paid for dinner already, I have no additional pay this morning for check out..
	宿から国境までus$5のタクシーに乗る。車でも5分程の昨日歩いた滝の入り口近くだから高い Its only 5minutes taxi is us$5- its expensive but I don't know way to border entrance, I have no choice
	出国管理事務所で判子を押してもらい再び別のタクシーus$3-、トラックはザンビアで産出する銅の地金を南アフリカに輸出してると運転手は説明してくれた Passport control of Zimbabwe will put one stamp and I have to take another taxi again us$3- to passport control of Zambia, taxi driver explained these truck carry export mine such as copper metal to south Africa
	タクシーはザンビア側の入国管理事務所までの少しの距離、滝の飛沫が雨のように降り注ぐので車で5分程だがus$3は判る。欧米人の若者はそれを節約するために濡れながら歩いていた Lot of drizzle from victoria fall, sometimes like heavy rain fall, it take 5 minutes by taxi, us$3 is expensive so many of American European young people walking but they are wet or use raincoat.
	ここで国境のあの橋ビクトリア滝橋を渡る This bridge is border named Victoria fall bridge ahead of us.
	滝の飛沫が見えてきた橋の上、車のフロントガラスも濡れる、ワイパーが必要。 Many drizzle come from bottom of river to car window

	5分程で入国管理の建物前に到着、入国管理を済ませたら門の外で別のタクシーが待っていると説明してくれた in five minutes, arrived immigration of Zambia, driver explained again "after finished passport there is another taxi waiting at control outside of gate"

	数人が待っていたが係員は私のパスポートを見てたどたどしく「Kon nitiwa」と言って判子を押して渡してくれた支払いはない。 Few people lined , officer look my passport, he said "kon nitiwa" greeting in Japanese language, no need to pay anything here.

	税金を払う人はここで払うのだろうか、いずれにせよ長居したくない場所だ左手の扉が出口 When need to pay tax, is this for it ? anyway I don't want stay here only make trouble, left side is exit.
	建物から出たらこの入管施設の門から出て入国する This is immigration gate entrance to Zambia.
	入国管理の直ぐ隣にあるのはここ、再びタクシーをつかまえて目的の宿まで乗せてもらう、後から判った事だがここがザンビア側の滝の入り口だった Next door is this gate but I did not know and I will get to know afternoon this is entrance of Victoria fall park Zambia , after pass passport control gate I have to find next taxi to hostel
	左の男が私をus$10でリビングストーンの町までタクシーで連れて行くと言ってここまで案内。自分の兄弟が運転手をしてるとデカイのがタクシー運転手 Left side African boy ask me taxi us$10- to Livingstone city, his brother is taxi driver so he took me here from gate of passport control gate.Big boy is brother taxi driver.

	タクシーに乗って先程のやつはお前は兄弟だと言ってたが本当かと尋ねたら「そうだ」と、体の大きさが違うが本当かと再び尋ねたら「俺は昔から沢山食ったからなぁ」と返事が返ってきた。ザンビア側も道路は良い、ここだけかも知れないが、ここはジンバブエからザンビアに入って直ぐの場所 While driving I ask to driver, "you are the brother he said it it true ? because you are big body but he is small" he answered "yes we are, I ate much food than him from childhood". Road condition is good just entered Zambia ,

	幅の広いザンビア川の水は向こうにある滝の方に流れている、川の先に滝のしぶきが白い煙のようになって漂って雲の上を飛んでいる時のようにここからでも良く見える Very wide river width, Victoria fall is 2 or 3km but we can see drizzle made from water fall on surface of river

	この町でもタクシーも運転手もマトモだと思ったが同じ距離をこの後us$6-で行く事になるので国境からここまでのus$10-は高い事がわかった。昨日と同じように名前だけ知っていた宿Jorryboys安宿 I believed good taxi driver but realized I will take taxi same place same distance to border is us$6-, I did not make reservation today, I only know name Jollyboys Hostel

	ジンバブエの宿を10時に出てここまで一時間も掛からなかった、国境を越え隣町のこの宿は個室もドミトリーの共同部屋もテント泊もできる It take less than one hour after leave Shoestrings hostel Zimbabwe, this hostel able to stay in own tent and or dormitory and private room.

	350ｍｌスプライトをus$1出したら帰ってきたのはK7、7クワチャ＝us$0.07- I paid us$1- to buy sprite, change is 7.7kwacha=us$0.07-

	宿の案内に尋ねるとザンビア側の滝の入り口までus$6でタクシーで行けると、送ってもらうことに。行ってみたら滝の入り口は先ほど通った国境の入国管理事務所の隣だった。 I got information that we can go Victoria fall by taxi us$6-, I called taxi, I did not know Victoria fall park entrance is near border.

	タクシーを降りる時に運転手は名前と電話番号を書いた紙をくれて帰りは電話するように名前EVANSと電話番号をくれた他のタクシーなら10ドルになってしまうからだ。公園の入り口にこの地域のジオラマがあった。左の橋は国境を越える橋だが伸びている左端の黒い線は鉄道線路、真ん中の黒い線が私が通ってきた道路、白い線はこの公園内の遊歩道、右の橋は先の小さな島のような部分に行く橋、行ってみようと目的を決める、今居るのは写真の左下部分のZAMBIAザンビア側の茶色い建物、上側の対岸がジンバブエ、この後は先に突き出た島のような所にも行く Taxi arrived driver give me his number and name Evanse for return to hostel I expect his taxi, I surprised its just beside of border control, I find diorama after paid entrance fee, Left bridge is border which I take taxi this morning. upper side is Zimbabwe I am here lower side Zambia, bridge middle island called knife edge bridge, I will try to go there

上のジオラマを実写真にした案内が下。入国審査官が「Kon nitiwa」と言ってくれたザンビア入国管理事務所がImmigration500mの所、ジンバブエ側出国管理事務所は写真の欄外の上、つまり橋より上になる。これからKnifeEdgeBridgeナイフエッジブリッジの先のDangerPointデンジャーポイントまで行く、今はVerificationPointヴェリフィケーションアポイントにいる。何だか危なっかしい所を通るようだ。

見えているのはジオラマにあった大きいヴィクトリア滝橋、ザンベジ川の下流方向を見ている。この後は小さい橋を渡るのだが、なぜか公園のその場所に居た現地人が親切にしてくれる、橋の上は台風時の大雨状態なのでレインコートを着て靴を脱いで私は裸足に、私の靴は濡れない様に現地人が自分のレインコートの中に持ってくれた。
追記：2021/11/30この滝の下流で行われていたラフティングではラフティングツアーに参加していた英国人女性18才が途中の休憩中に川で泳いでいた時にワニに水の中に引きずり込まれそうになってツアーの男性の加勢で多量の出血で真っ赤になった水面から助け出された。片足は脱臼し体からぶら下がった状態、ヘリコプターにより近隣病院で応急手当の後、400km離れた首都ルサカへ移送、更に英国移送の結果、最終的には足を失うなどの事もなく無事だったそうだ。画像は『The Sun　2021年12月3日付「RIVER ATTACK Brit student 18 left with foot ‘hanging’ in croc attack after guide said it was safe to ‘take dip’ in infested river」』『The Mirror　2021年12月3日付「Brit savaged by crocodile in Zambia returning to UK ‘traumatised and heavily sedated’」』のスクリーンショット

Victoria fall bridge border of Zimbabwe and Zambia, I am looking downstream of Zambezi river, I'm on the way to small bridge knife edge bridge some of native people waiting someone, he try to take care of me,
knife edge bridge is small less than 1m width, 50m long iron made but slippy, I wear rain coat and get off my shoes, he hold my shoes under his rain coat,
It is walking under heavy typhoon while walking knife edge bridge, it is strong wind and heavy rain come from bottom, I keep my camera inside of small plastic bag and sealed it while walking bridge.

Postscript: 2021/11/30 In the rafting that was held downstream of this waterfall, an 18-year-old English woman who was participating in a rafting tour was about to be dragged into the water by a crocodile while swimming in the river during a break on the way. She was rescued from the water that turned bright red due to a large amount of bleeding helped by man on the tour. Her one leg was dislocated and hung from her body, and after first aid at a nearby hospital by helicopter, she was transferred to the capital Lusaka 400 km away, and as a result of the transfer to the United Kingdom, she was safe finally without losing her leg in the end. That's right.

	カメラを再びビニル袋に入れて橋に向かうが橋は虹がかかって「俺は鉄でなく虹の橋を渡りてぇ」と思う I put camera in plastic transparency bag, I want to walk rainbow bridge to heaven,

	常に濡れている地域なのでどこも苔でニュルニュルヌルヌル Hand hold , floor everywhere is wet and slippy by moss

	常に水が流れているので路面は鉄だが苔が生えていてヌルッと滑る、片手でカメラ、片手で手すりを持って、さらに橋には勾配があって、この方向は下り坂を裸足で歩いてる私。 I hold hand hold of bridge other hand hold camera, I walk bear foot here , floor is iron plate,
	これが私の案内人、レインコートの下に私の靴を持っている細い橋を渡り終えた直後 He is holding my shoes under his rain coat. I just passed knife edge bridge
	細い橋を渡り終えてレインコートを脱いだらほっこりして記念写真、現地人には20分程の案内代としてus$5渡したら10ドル欲しいと言ってくる。同じ時間のタクシーでも6ドルなのに10ドルは高いと言ってそれ以上は払わなかった、案内人とはここでお別れ。 I just finished thrilling small tour in heavy rain, removed rain coat, I give us$5- as reward but he asked us$10-, its only 20 minutes guide, taxi drive 20minutes are only six dollar, 10 is too expensive.
	滝の周りを一時間半程かけて廻ったが疲れて出てきました、公園入り口の係員にタクシー運転手に電話してもらいK2支払う。前の土産物屋でゆっくりしよう。宿からここまで迎えに来て再び宿まで行くのにus$6-は良心的、お迎え料金は取らなかったこの売店はCURIOと呼ぶようだ I walk Victoria fall park one and half hour, I am tired today.. get out to market, I asked native people to call my taxi and give 2kwacha to native people as reward , this market called CURIO

	再びタクシーでリビングストーンの町まで戻ってきた国境から車で15分程だ。FawltyTowersという名のバックパッカー用安宿がここにもある I get back to town hear hostel, only 15 minutes this fawlty towers are back packers hostel too,

	少し時間があったので宿に直行せずにCURIOキューリオマーケットで車を降りる,何所もマーケットはCURIOと書いてあるがスワヒリ語でそう呼ぶの？ I did not get off at hostel asked drop me at market he called CURIO market, market always called CURIO ? is it Swahili language?

	町の中をゆっくり宿の方向に戻る一本道だ I walk to hostel and looking around city only one big road

	建物背後に電波塔があって放送局である事が一目で判る Find radio station, easy to get it big radio tower behind of building

	この地域はリビングストーン市の商業地域 Business area of this city

	この通りは斜面になっていて向こうに行くほど登りの山であることが判る This road up hill , this town locate middle of mountain hill

	じゃあ反対向けの景色は草原が見えるはずだが木が森がさえぎってる標高900ｍの高原地帯、だから熱帯地域にあって蒸し熱くないのだ。 Then other side is hill, this point is higher altitude of hill this field elevation is 900m2700feet

	メイン道路からミュージアム入り口にある飛行機が宿の入り口の目印、ここを曲がると50ｍで宿がある Landmark real airplane turn between main street to Jorryboys hostel

	やっと宿に戻ってきたJORRYBOYS I get back home Jollyboys
	宿に戻るとホッとする。昼間は客がプールに入っていたがこの時間は誰も居ない I feel at home entered hostel, no one stay in water pool at this time, I can not see young woman.
	香港で使う差込がそのまま使えた、上の案内は電気を多く使う機器は使用できないと表示、ベッドの横にある差込 this outlet same as HongKong, information is what electric equipment available in this outlet beside of my bed

	下の段が私のベッド、この部屋は男女混合8人部屋、ドイツ人オランダ人国籍も性別も混合だった、私がベッドに入った頃の夜にオランダ人サンドラが部屋に入って来て自己紹介してくれた。その時は部屋の住人は全員でなかったが8人の内の5人ほど部屋に居て私のやり方である「蚊取り線香を10分程点けて煙を少し部屋に残して後は窓を閉めてエアコンで適切な温度で寝れば気持ちよく寝られるのだが皆の同意は得られるかなぁ」とサンドラに言ったら部屋に居る人の同意を取り付けてくれて私は3ｃｍ程の長さの蚊取り線香に火をつけた。部屋はエアコンを23℃に設定して寝たが時間が経つと蒸し暑い、最夜中にトイレに行ったら外はヒヤッとするほど涼しかった。高原地帯なのだ。
My bed is lower bad, 8 mixed shared room German, Holland, many nationality male and female, when I get in bed in night, just entered Sandra enter, she introduce herself come from Netherland, I wanted use mosquito coil in 10 minutes then close window and use air conditioner give us comfortable condition to sleep inside of room without mosquito, I ask it to Sandra and it is necessary to agreement all of room mate, Sandra agreed me and ask agreement to other room mate, everybody is okey,, I use 3cm mosquito coil and use air condition as 23 degrees, it is little hot but its OK, midnight is very cool outside when I went toilet.　I remember field elevation here.

	私はシャワーで汗を流してさっぱりしたら夕食に再び町に出る After take shower, go out again to have dinner alone,

	リビングストーンの町の中はちゃんと町として整備されている、でも道路以外の私有地等は舗装されてない。タンザニアのダルエスサラームよりも町は良く整備されている、国自体が良いのか？ Well maintenance, well equipped city Livingstone, paved only city road but private area is muddy yard ,this town is better than Dal es salaam Tanzania east Africa., is this country richer than Tanzania ?

	この町はなだらかな山の斜面にある、眺めると草原が見える Very shallow slope hill this city

	スーパーマーケットがあったので入ってみた、西欧諸国東南アジアのマーケットと同じ、中国製の安物が溢れるほどあった。 I find super market, not big difference than westernized country or south east Asia, but full of cheap made in china junk

	先ほど歩いた時にめぼしを着けておいた飯屋に寄る Way back to hostel , I get in this small eat shop, I find this earlier
	ケバブはチキンの肉だと言っていた、普通の肉類は右の窯で焼く Kebab is chicken meat, ordinary meat will roast right funnel

	この野菜が食べたいと牛肉が食べたいと言ったらK50だと返事があったのでus$5-を渡す I want have this vegetable with beef, I said it to native cashier. he said 50 kwacha, so I give 5 us$-

	その他も何があるか店を見て廻る、どこも英語の知識で判るように表記してあるのがうれしい I look around inside of eat shop,, indicate in english everything.

	K50クワチャだと言うのでus$5-渡したら料理が出来ると思える時間が経過したら店の人がどこかで両替してK43になったと、手持ちであったスプライト飲んだ時のお釣りK7あったので追加してK50渡した。更に随分な時間が経過してやっと持ってきた食事、堅い牛肉だったが昨日と違ってこれはほぼ食べられた。最初にお金を渡してからこの皿が出てくるまで殆ど一時間経過。アフリカなのだと実感！
Cashier said 50kwacha, I give 5 dollar , I expected appear my meal take in 20 minutes, but staff told me 5 dollar become 43kwacha, I add 7 kwacha which I had sprite this morning. total is K50, then take 20 minutes staff bring this meal for me totals almost one hour, beef is hard meat but I eat it all today not like yesterday. I realized again This is Africa.

	もう夕暮れ、暗くなってきた午後7時を廻ってる、日本はちょうど真夜中 Road become dark, evening after 7pm, midnight in Japan now.
	明日の飛行機に乗るまでに小腹が空いたときの為にバナナ5本K5で売っていたのでK4見せて買った、値切ったわけでなくそれしか現地通貨を持ってなかったし残っても仕方ない現地通貨を使い切りたかった。少年と記念写真。 I need prepare small food for tomorrow morning until get on airplane, he said 5 banana is 5 kwacha, but I show all money 4 kwacha, We Deal it, he accepted even I did not ask discount, I asked take picture to him,

昨日飛行機を降りてからのジンバブエ側ヴィクトリアフォールのオリーブ色軌跡とザンビア側リビングストンの宿まで紫色の軌跡、HOLUXの日付が狂っている、川中の黒い線が国境線
Track trace after get off airplane yesterday, green line is yesterday, purple line is today, black line middle of river is border line, indicate date is crazy

上記地図の紫線部分、本日朝からの累積移動距離と標高高度、900～880m辺りは滝を見に行った時、リビングストーンの宿に着いてから滝を見に行ったからだ

食事を待つ間に自分の居る場所三角矢印マークを確認、アフリカ中央部にいるんだと実感。表示時間は現地時間

While I wait my meal I checked my present position by my smart phone, triangle is my position located middle of Africa, time is local time Zambia.

今回の旅の大きな目的は完遂した、明日は午後の飛行機でヨハネスブルグ経由してカタールまで戻る。
Main purpose of this trip was done, I will back to Qatar Doha via Johannesburg tomorrow

	展望台はいくつかあって、ここでは10ｍ毎にある、展望台といっても柵もなく安定した台地があるだけ。 Many of view point this area maybe every ten meter. on road.
	滝から離れても水の流れは速い、雨季の終わりだと言っていたのが判る水量だ。 Water flow very first this is very wide big river , someone said end of rain season.

	幅1ｍに満たないKnifeEdgeナイフの刃先橋は少々登り坂、50ｍ程の長さの鉄の橋で両側に手すりがあって、足を滑らせても手すりの間からは人間は落ちないようになっているが常に濡れている橋なので苔でヌルヌル滑りやすいし雨風は下から吹き上げるので立って歩くのが大変な状態、当然ゆっくりしか歩けないヌルヌルしながらの橋の上。カメラはビニル袋に入れたままで写真を撮った。 Small knife edge bridge is uphill, 50m bridge has hand hold both side but floor is so slippy due to slippy moss, I pushed camera shutter from outside of transparency plastic bag
	ようやく渡りきったカメラはビニル袋に入れたまま写真撮影、他にも袋に入れたまま沢山写真を撮ったがまともに写ったのは少ない I took many of picture while camera was inside of plastic bag, but almost can not see or error , inside plastic bag need defrost
	ここまで来てビニル袋から出して、それでも飛沫で湿っぽい以上の細かい水しぶきの中を歩く、まるで大きな超音波加湿器の中を歩いているようだ。 I get off camera from plastic bag ,everywhere is wet and foggy
	何とか目に見える水しぶきからは逃れられる展望台に来た Escaped from heavy foggy heavy drizzle this is nice view point

先ほどの国境の大きな橋が真近に見えるが水煙で霞んで見える	can not see bridge well due to heavy fogs from water fall



	7月8月の乾季には滝の上の凹んでいる部分で泳げるとか、季節により、そんなツアーがあるらしい、カメラはビニルに入れてないのだが水しぶきで良く見えない滝の上流側。 Some tour will held on fall swimming tour in this dimple at dry season hear, this dimple is above edge of fall like small pool area,

	水しぶきから逃げるように進む Better to wear rain coat umbrella is useless in this condition.
	特に頼んだわけでないが成り行き上案内人になってしまった現地人が説明する I did not ask him as my tour guide but he explain this picture and instruction
	この観光客と私の案内人とは現地語で話していた My tour guide talking in native language with them

	谷の底を見るとトレッキングコースがあってツアーをしていると、何人かが歩いているのが小さく見えていた Bottom of valley has small road for tracking tour, I saw someone walking follow tour guide between trees.

	あの山のどこかから谷に向かうルートが I'm looking for tour route at bottom of valley, tour should start near here
再びあの橋を渡って元に戻る、こうしてみると結構長い橋、80～100ｍ位はあるのか	I should back through that bridge again , look long bridge around 80～100m long

	最初は地図写真の右の方向、滝の上流側に行く、水しぶきが直ぐに見える I walk right way to up stream

I hear sound of big water fall and feel heavy drizzle from water fall here become wet soon.	滝から水しぶきが垂直に立ち上がる

	良く見るとここは路面が傾いているってことはこの部分はゆっくり崩落するって事か？？クワバラクワバラ、私は道の右端を走って通過　！ I look well this road, find some of angle to fall not flat road, this area will fall in the future, I hope future is not now, I walk right side and walk rapidly to pass here.

	国境の橋が水煙と共に見えてきた滝は右手100ｍ程にある。国境の橋上の車を見ると高さ100ｍ以上あるのが判る Victoria fall is right side 100m away but lot of fall water make drizzle , bridge height is more than 100m
